
Lively, Bats Shutout Stripers 6-0 on Sunday

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. - The Bats (20-33) end the series strong, downing the Stripers (27-27) 6-0 on Sunday afternoon at Coolray Field.
A pitcher's duel to start, Ben Lively (2-4, 3.98) only gave up one hit, striking out six Gwinnett batters through the first three frames of the game.
The Bats broke the into the scoring column as Colin Moran launched his first homerun in a Louisville uniform over the right field wall to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth.
Pitching continued to control the game from there with neither team able to get much offense going. Lively turned in his second quality start in his last three outings, tossing six scoreless innings, giving up two hits and one walk while striking out nine.
Louisville exploded in the seventh, scoring four runs with two outs. TJ Friedl got things started with a double off the right field wall and was brought in soon after off a single from Lorenzo Cedrola. The Bats tacked on one more off an rbi double from Juniel Querecuto and ended the scoring run with a two rbi double off the bat of Taylor Motter to extend their lead to 5-0.
The Bats added on one more run in the eighth before closing out the game for a 6-0 win. With the win, Louisville extends its win streak to three games, tied for the longest of the season, and earned a series split for the second straight week.
Up next, the Bats will enjoy a day off on Monday, June 6, before returning home for a six-game series against the Charlotte Knights at Slugger Field. Game one of the series is scheduled for Tuesday, June 7 at 7:05 pm ET at Louisville Slugger Field.
