Lindstrom Named Rbk/AHL Player of the Week

Syracuse, NY (November 26, 2007) - The American Hockey League announced today that Syracuse Crunch left wing Joakim Lindstrom has been named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 25, 2007. In two games last week, Lindstrom registered three goals and four assists for seven points along with a team-leading 10 shots on goal.

Lindstrom recorded four points and was named the game's first star in Syracuse's 6-4 victory over Manitoba on Friday night. His second goal of the contest was the game-winner and came with just 3:54 remaining in regulation. On Saturday, Lindstrom scored another go-ahead third-period goal and added two assists in the Crunch's 4-3 overtime loss at Toronto.

Lindstrom will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Crunch home game.

A second-round pick by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Lindstrom has racked up 22 points (10g, 12a) in 20 games with Syracuse in 2007-08. The 23-year-old native of Skelleftea, Sweden is in his third full season with the Crunch after playing parts of five seasons with MoDo of the Swedish Elite League.

The Crunch's next home game is Friday, November 30 vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
