Flames Visit Chicago Before Hosting Weekend Pair

Moline, IL- The Flames roll into the final week of November at the .500 mark after winning seven of their last nine games. Last week, the Flames earned three wins in four games beginning with a 4-2 win at Milwaukee on November 20th. The Flames returned home the next night to record a 3-1 win over Iowa. After taking a day off for Thanksgiving, the Flames traveled to Rockford on Friday. In the first meeting between the two teams in Rockford, Quad City downed the Hogs 5-3. The week wrapped up with a 2-1 loss to Peoria last Saturday night at i wireless Center.

This Tuesday, the Flames visit Chicago for the first time. After a pair of days off, the Flames return home for a pair of games at the i wireless Center. On Friday, the Milwaukee Admirals are in town for the second time this season. The Manitoba Moose visit the i wireless Center for the final time this season on Saturday.

Flames Forum at The Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge

The Flames return to The Blackbear Lounge at The Lodge tonight for another edition of Flames Forum. Host Aaron Roof will be joined by Assistant Coach Scott Allen, Warren Peters, Tomi Maki and David Van der Gulik. The show begins at 6:00 p.m. and can be heard on WYEC 93.9 FM.

Road Game Viewing Party at Bleacher Bums in Davenport and Parkside Grill and Lounge in Moline

The Flames invite fans to follow the team on the road via b2 Viewing Parties at Bleacher Bums in Davenport or Parkside Grill and Lounge in Moline. On Tuesday night, the Flames are in Chicago for a showdown with the Wolves. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Drink specials will be offered at both locations. Fans in attendance at Bleacher Bums can purchase $5 domestic pitchers or buckets of beer for $12. Bleacher Bums is located at 3811 N. Harrison Street in Davenport, across the street from Lujack's. Parkside Grill and Lounge is located at 2307 5th Avenue in Moline.

Fans are encouraged to bring an unwrapped holiday gift to the Flames game on Saturday night vs. Manitoba. The gifts will be donated to the SKIP Program to benefit children during the holiday season. After the game, The Dispatch and Rock Island Argus is hosting a post-game autograph session at the i wireless Center. The Flames will head over to Overtime following the game with Manitoba for a Post-Game Party with fans.

The Moose visit the Quad Cities for the final time this season on Saturday night. In the teams' only previous meeting, the Moose staged a third period comeback en route to a 3-2 shootout win over the Flames.

Tuesday, November 20th - Quad City 4 at Milwaukee 2

Powered by a four-goal third period, the Flames finished a five-game road trip with a 4-2 victory over the Admirals on Tuesday night in Milwaukee. The Flames went 4-1-0-0 on the trip. In Tuesday's game, the Flames enjoyed a pair of goals from Grant Stevenson and solo markers from Krys Kolanos and Warren Peters. Milwaukee's John Vigilante netted the only goal of the first period when he scored shorthanded at 15:37 of the period. Cal O'Reilly set up the play when he dangled through the Quad City zone before earning the primary helper on Vigilante's goal. The marker was the fourth shorthanded goal allowed by Quad City vs. the Admirals this year. The Admirals struck again in the second period when Mike Santorelli fed Alex Henry for the Milwaukee Captain's first goal of the year. Despite a flurry of Flames chances, Henry's tally held up as the only goal of the middle frame. In the third, the Flames roared back with a franchise record four goals in a single period. Krys Kolanos started the scoring when he found the back of the net on a 2-on-1 break with Brandon Prust. Grant Stevenson added a 5-on-3 power-play goal at 11:45 of the period to tie the game at two. Stevenson added his team leading sixth goal four minutes later. Stevenson scored on a goal-mouth scramble to put the Flames in front. Warren Peters secured the victory when he scored into an empty net with just 15 seconds left in the contest.

Wednesday, November 21st - Iowa 1 at Quad City 3

The Flames recorded their third consecutive win on Wednesday night with a 3-1 come-from-behind victory over the Iowa Stars. Brent Krahn earned first star honors after recording his first home-ice victory. David Van der Gulik recorded his first multiple goal game as a Flame in the win while Grant Stevenson added his team-leading seventh goal of the season. The Stars netted the only goal of the first period when Marty Sertich slammed home the rebound on a B.J. Crombeen point shot. The power-play tally gave Iowa a 1-0 lead that the Stars held through the opening period. In the second, the Flames scored twice on the power play to take the lead. Grant Stevenson scored his third goal in the last two games and seventh of the season at 6:43 on a Flames power play. David Van der Gulik scored his third goal of the season less than three minutes later to put the Flames in front at 2-1. Van der Gulik added an empty netter with 33 seconds left in the third to secure the victory.

Friday, November 23rd - Quad City 5 at Rockford 3

The Flames established their longest winning streak of the season on Friday night with a 5-3 victory over the IceHogs in Rockford. The team's fourth consecutive win was highlighted by a pair of Warren Peters goals and single markers by David Van der Gulik, Adam Cracknell and Brett Sutter. A wild first period featured five goals as Quad City finished the opening frame with a 3-2 edge. David Van der Gulik started the scoring with his fifth of the year at 3:21 of the period. The Hogs answered just 45 seconds later when Prestin Ryan netted a goal on a point shot that found its way through a screen and into the back of the Quad City net. At 6:31 of the first frame, Adam Cracknell scored a power-play goal off a face-off win by Krys Kolanos. The tally was Cracknell's first since being recalled from Las Vegas on Wednesday. Rockford's Troy Brouwer tied the game again less than two minutes later when he scored a power-play goal. The high-scoring opening period ended with Warren Peters scoring to put the Flames up by one. Peters scored on a goal mouth scramble with assists from his linemates, Carsen Germyn and David Van der Gulik. In the second period, Quad City moved in front by two when Warren Peters sent a backhand chance past Rockford's Corey Crawford and into the top corner of the Hog net. Rockford pulled back to within one later in the second on the power play. Cam Barker sprung Brouwer to set up a breakaway for the power forward's seventh goal of the year. Brouwer's goal was the final tally of the middle frame and sent the teams back to the locker room with Quad City in front at 4-3. Brett Sutter provided the Flames with an insurance tally when he scored the only goal of the third period with 6:02 left in the game. Sutter snapped a shot from the right wing circle into the Rockford net for his third goal of the season. just 1:12 left in the contest.

Saturday, November 24th - Peoria 2 at Quad City 1

The Peoria Rivermen snapped Quad City's four-game winning streak on Saturday night at the i wireless Center behind a strong goaltending performance from Chris Beckford-Tseu. The Peoria netminder turned aside 28 Quad City shots in the 2-1 Rivermen win including 11 in the final frame. Brent Krahn was strong in the loss stopping 30 shots including a single period franchise record 18 shots in the middle frame. Following a scoreless first period, the Rivermen opened the second period strong and took a 2-0 lead. Julian Talbot scored 90 seconds into the opening frame to put Peoria on the board. Five minutes later, Kris Porter recorded his second goal of the season to give the Rivermen a 2-0 advantage. The Rivermen went on to take the first 16 shots in the second before outshooting the Flames 20-7 in the frame. Quad City rallied late to create chances inside the Peoria zone before Matt Pelech netted his second goal of the year as the second period expired. Pelech's goal-mouth scramble goal was assisted by Carsen Germyn and Warren Peters. The helper extended Peters' scoring streak to five games. A scoreless third period featured 11 Flames shots vs. just four shots for Peoria. The Flames made a strong closing push but could not put the equalizer past Beckford-Tseu.
