
San Jose Sharks Recall Goaltender Dimitri Patzold From Worcester, Re-assign Goaltender Thomas Greiss

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled goaltender Dimitri Patzold from his conditioning assignment with the Worcester Sharks (AHL). In a related move, goaltender Thomas Greiss was re-assigned to Worcester.
Patzold, 24, played in three games with Worcester, posting a 1-1-1 record, a 3.57 goals-against average and a .903 save percentage. His final game was a 5-4 shootout loss against Providence in which he made 42 saves.
With San Jose this season, Patzold has appeared in two games posting a 2.50 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
The six-foot, 195-pound native of Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan was selected by San Jose in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft (fourth round, 107th overall).
Greiss, 21, has posted a 6-4-0 record with a .904 save percentage and a 3.15 goals against average for the Worcester Sharks this season. He did not appear in an NHL game in his career.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Fussen, Germany was selected by San Jose in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft (3rd round, 94th overall).
The Sharks host the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:05pm on Friday, November 30th at the DCU Center.
