
LHP Zac Rosscup, C Taylor Davis Return to Iowa; RHP Brian Schlitter Designated

DES MOINES, Iowa (Aug. 28, 2015) - The Chicago Cubs have made a series of transactions affecting Iowa's active roster for tonight's game against Sacramento. Left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup has rejoined Iowa after being optioned to Triple-A on Thursday. He takes the roster spot of right-handed pitcher Brian Schlitter who was designated for assignment. Additionally, catcher Taylor Davis has rejoined Iowa from Double-A Tennessee.
Rosscup, 27, is 2-1 with a 4.30 ERA (11ER/23.0IP) in 26 relief appearances with Chicago this season. With Iowa this year, Rosscup has posted no record with a 7.36 ERA (6ER/7.1IP) in eight relief outings with 13 strikeouts.
Davis, 25, is batting .282 (59-for-209) with four home runs, 14 doubles and 21 RBI in 71 games over two stints with Iowa this season.
Schlitter, 29, went 2-2 with a PCL-leading 22 saves and a 1.09 ERA (5ER/41.1IP) in 41 relief appearances with Iowa. His 22 saves tied a career-high and were the third-best single-season saves total in Iowa Cubs history. He went 1-2 with a 7.36 ERA (6ER/7.1IP) in 10 relief outings for Chicago this season.
With these moves, Iowa's active roster is at 25 players plus two players on the disabled list and one player on major league rehab.
Iowa has now made 194 player transactions this season, a franchise record. The mark broke the previous record of 172 set in 2013. It is the third time in four seasons the I-Cubs have set a transactions record.
Iowa and Sacramento play the second game of their four-game series tonight at Principal Park. First pitch is set for 7:08 p.m. CT. It is the final home series of the season for the Iowa Cubs. Tonight's game will be immediately followed by the final Fireworks Friday of the season.
The I-Cubs and River Cats play again Saturday evening at 7:08 p.m. CT, then finish the 2015 home slate Sunday afternoon at 1:08 p.m. CT.
