Nashville Sounds News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds announced their 2016 playing schedule today and will host 72 games at First Tennessee Park during their second season in North Nashville.
The 2016 schedule will include noon start times for each of the Sounds' seven Wednesday home contests. Additional day games to be played at First Tennessee Park will occur on seven Sundays (April 10th through June 19th as well as July 10th). Afternoon games will account for one-fifth of the team's 72 home games in 2016.
"We look forward to building upon the exciting fan experience that everyone enjoyed during our inaugural season at First Tennessee Park. Part of that process is responding to the request for additional day games, which we are delighted to add to accommodate our fans," said Garry Arthur, Sounds COO & General Manager. "We are already hard at work planning more fun promotions and new features for our second season in 2016."
Nashville kicks off the Pacific Coast League season on Thursday, April 7th by hosting the Oklahoma City Dodgers in Music City. The Sounds will play their final home contest on Thursday, September 1st, before concluding their regular season with a Labor Day road game in New Orleans.
The 2016 home schedule includes 11 homestands and 31 weekend dates (Fri.-Sun.) during what is sure to be another fun-filled summer at the ballpark. The Sounds will host home games on both Mother's Day (May 8) and Father's Day (June 19) next season.
Game times and the 2016 promotional schedule will be released at a later date. Individual game tickets will be available for purchase in March.
Season tickets packages are currently on sale at the First Tennessee Park box office. Visit the team's website at www.nashvillesounds.com for complete details.
The 2016 season will be the Sounds' 19th year in the Pacific Coast League and their second as the Oakland Athletics' top affiliate.
