Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
After waiting out a 21 minute delay for rain that never came, Brandon Leibrandt (1-0) went to work on Batavia hitters allowing just two hits over six innings in picking up his first win as a Crosscutter.
In the bottom of the first inning on Wednesday night at Susquehanna Bank Park at Bowman Field Derek Campbell led off the inning with a triple to the base of the wall in left field. Three pitches later Jiandido Tromp hit a sacrifice fly to score Campbell and the Cutters lead 1-0.
Derek Campbell hit a one out double in the third and was plated three batters later by a Rhys Hoskins RBI single to make it 2-0 Cutters.
Matt Shortall led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple and scored two batters later on a Deivi Grullon RBI double inside the bag at third base to cap the scoring at 3-0 Cutters. Bryan Sova picked up his second save as a Crosscutter allowing two hits in the ninth inning.
The Cutters take both games of the series from the Batavia Muckdogs who have now lost six consecutive games.
