FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends (7-11) took a wire-to-wire victory over the defending-champion Austin Spurs (9-7) 137-110 Friday night in front of a sold out home crowd.

JJ Avila grabbed the first basket for Texas followed by a long ball from Rashad Vaughn to set the tone early. Both teams struggled offensively, but Texas held the visitors to 15 first-quarter points to pave the way for a big second quarter. Texas nearly doubled their makes in the second, shooting 67% after a 38% first. While holding the Spurs to 20, Daryl Macon led a 15-point charge for Texas to jump up to a 69-35 advantage heading into the locker room.

Texas' hot streak continued in the second half as nine-of-ten active players contributed to a 76% quarter. Austin began heating up as well, hitting 15-of-24, but the deficit proved too large for the visitors who faced a 43-point difference in the second half. The Legends regained their largest lead (+43) minutes into the fourth, but the Spurs finished strong with a 30-14 run to the buzzer. The 27-point gap was Texas' largest margin victory of the season.

The Legends finished with season-highs in multiple categories, shooting 57% overall and 54% outside while dishing out 32 assists and grabbing 19 steals.

Macon grabbed the game's only double-double leading the Legends with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and a season-leading 13 assists.
