The Lexington Legends survived three late-inning threats and held on for a 4-2 win over the Rome Braves Friday night. It was the Legends' second straight win over the Braves and fourth in a row overall.

Lexington took the lead on Adam Bailey's two-run single in the third inning. The Braves scored a run in the bottom of the fourth on a double by Robby Hefflinger and a single by Edward Salcedo.

The Legends added single runs in the fifth and sixth to take a 4-1 lead. Rome had two men on with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but the Legends' infield turned a double play to end the inning.

The Braves scored once in the eighth and had the bases loaded with two out when shortstop Jiovanni Mier made a leaping catch of a line drive hit by David Rohm.

In the ninth, the first two batters reached against Legends' reliever Gabriel Garcia, but he retired the next three on a force play, a strikeout and a fly ball to center field to end the game.

Starter Carlos Quevedo (5-3) allowed seven hits in seven innings to get the win. Garcia earned his second save of the year. Rome starter Caleb Brewer (4-4) was the losing pitcher.
