Rome, GA -The Lexington Legends defeated the Rome Braves 4-2 Friday night in front of 3,200 fans at State Mutual Stadium. Rome has now lost six consecutive games.

The Legends would get on the board first in the top of the third highlighted by a two RBI single by Adam Bailey giving Lexington a 2-0 lead. Rome would scratch across their first run in the bottom of the fourth to make it a 2-1 game thanks to an RBI single by Jakob Dalfonso.

Rome aided Lexington's scoring in the top of the fifth with a throwing error by Christian Bethancourt that would allow Jordan Scott to score giving the Legends a 3-1 advantage. The Legends would add another run in the top of the sixth as Mike Kvasnicka would score from third on a strike out wild pitch by Caleb Brewer allowing Emilio King to reach first and the inning to continue.

Rome made a late effort with a run in the bottom of the eighth thanks to a leadoff triple by Hilton Richardson who would later score on an RBI groundout by Matt Lipka making the score 4-2. That would be all the offense Rome could get as they stranded five runners in their last two at-bats ending the game with a 4-2 loss.
