CHARLESTON - The South Atlantic League announced Friday morning that Charleston RiverDogs outfielder Ramon Flores has been added to the Southern Division All-Star roster for the 52nd SAL All-Star Game at Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, Md., home of the Delmarva Shorebirds, on Tues., June 21.

Flores joins fellow RiverDogs catcher J.R. Murphy and pitcher Mikey O'Brien on the Southern Division roster. Outfielder Slade Heathcott and first baseman Kyle Roller also garnered All-Star laurels, but won't play in the game due to injury.

Flores has hit .263 in 61 games for the RiverDogs, having played left field, centerfield and first base. The 5'11" Venezuelan has already registered career-highs with six home runs and 30 RBI, the latter of which is tied for the Charleston team lead.

Signed as an international free agent in 2008, Flores ranks second in the SAL with 40 walks, comes in second on the RiverDogs squad with a .380 on-base percentage, and has already fashioned a career-high 10-game hitting streak in May which included a four-game home run streak from May 14-17, becoming just the third RiverDog to homer in four straight contests since the team became a Yankees affiliate in 2005.

Charleston plays game two of its first-half ending four-game series with the Hickory Crawdads at 7 p.m. Friday at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory, N.C.
