
Legends Bats on Fyre with 6-1 Victory over Greenville Drive

WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK (Lexington, KY) - The Lexington Legends, led by two homers, took down the Greenville Drive in the 6-1 victory. The Legends split the series with the Drive and now are in the top spot of the Southern Division in the South Atlantic League.
The Legends plated their first runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. Rubendy Jaquez lined a leadoff double to the left field corner then moved to third on a single by Michael Gigliotti. Eric Cole then bounced a fielder's choice to the infield, scoring Jaquez. Eaton then scored on an error and the Legends jumped out to an early 2-0 lead.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Juan Carlos Negret was hit-by-pitch. Jackson Lueck then blasted a homer 413ft to left field, extending the Legends' lead 4-0.
Lexington went on to plate two more in the bottom of the eighth inning. After Reed Rohlman lined a single to left field, Nick Hutchins smashed a two-run bomb to left field. The Legends led 6-0.
Greenville scored their lone run of the game in the top of the ninth inning. Kervin Suarez led off with a single then scored on an RBI grounder, but still trailed 6-1.
Kris Bubic was awarded the victory for the Legends, tossing 7.0 shutout innings allowing three hits while walking one and striking out 10. Angel Padron was given the loss pitching 5.0 shutout innings allowing one hit while walking one and striking out five.
The Legends have an off day then face the August Greenjackets, Tuesday April 30 at 7:05pm.
