
Ledbetter and Holmes Chosen to Represent Beach Bums in the Frontier League All-Star Game

TRAVERSE CITY, MI - The Frontier League announced the rosters for the All-Star Game this afternoon. Two members of the Traverse City Beach Bums will be representing the team in Florence, Kentucky next week.
Curtis Ledbetter and Justin Holmes have both been chosen to participate in the game as members of the North team. The North will feature members of the Central Division as well as Washington and Slippery Rock from the East. The All-Star Game will take place at Florence's Champion Window Field on July 11.
Ledbetter has been the starting catcher for a majority of the season and recently has settled into a role as the designated hitter. He has also started at first base. Entering play on July 3, Ledbetter is currently the Beach Bums leader in average at .316, homeruns with four, and is second on the team with 29 RBI. He has also connected on eight doubles and a triple while posting 17 multi-hit games. Ledbetter is in his first season with the Beach Bums.
Shortstop Justin Holmes will make his second straight appearance in the Frontier League showcase. Holmes has reached base in all but five games this season and has been a staple at the top of the order for Jon Cahill's club. Holmes is hitting .289 with three homers and 17 RBI. He has seven doubles and six stolen bases. Holmes owns the longest hitting streak this season for the Beach Bums at 12 games early in the year. He has 14 multi-hit games and finished with a season high four hits and four runs in last night's win over Kalamazoo.
Windy City has the most representatives on the squad with seven selections. Windy City's Andy Haines will manage the team. Kalamazoo garnered four choices as did the East Division leading Washington Wild Things while Rockford place three on the team and Slippery Rock has one representative.
The Beach Bums (15-24) will hit the road for three games at East Division leading Washington, beginning at 7:05 pm tomorrow night in Pennsylvania. RHP Tony Casoli will make the start for the Beach Bums in the series opener. Tim Calderwood will broadcast the game on The Fox FM starting with the Beach Bums On Deck Show at 6:45 pm.
