Manny Paula's RBI single capped off a three-run ninth inning that lifted the Gateway Grizzlies to a 4-3 come-from-behind win over the Southern Illinois Miners Tuesday night at GCS Ballpark. The win came in front of 4,431.

Dustin Roberts and Stephen Holdren hit back-to-back one-out home runs to tie the score at three. Paula's hit scored Charlie Lisk who had walked earlier in the inning.

The Grizzlies took an early lead on a fourth inning solo home run from Mike Breyman. The blast was Breyman's 46th in a Grizzlies uniform, making him the club's all-time leader. He surpassed current Grizzlies manager Phil Warren with the fourth inning shot.

The Miners got a run in the seventh to even the score at one. They went ahead with a pair of unearned runs in the eighth inning.

Matt Rainey earned the win in relief. Rainey tossed the ninth inning walking one. Jeremy Dow made his first start for the Grizzlies, filling in for the injured Nathan Roush. Dow went 5.1 innings. He did not allow a run and only allowed one hit. He struck out two.

The Grizzlies welcome the Rockford RiverHawks for a Fourth of July game. Special game time Wednesday is 6:05 p.m.
