Sliders' Zac Cline Named Frontier League All-Star

Slippery Rock, PA -Slippery Rock Sliders left-handed pitcher Zac Cline was voted to the North Division team for the Frontier League's All-Star Game, the Frontier League announced this afternoon. Cline will join players from the Kalamazoo Kings, Rockford RiverHawks, Traverse City Beach Bums, Washington Wild Things, and Windy City ThunderBolts in the 15th annual contest. The South team will consist of players representing the Chillicothe Paints, Evansville Otters, Florence Freedom, Gateway Grizzlies, River City Rascals, and Southern Illinois Miners.

Zac Cline currently ranks fifth in the Frontier League with a 2.20 ERA to go along with a 4-2 record and 34 strikeouts, both of which lead the Sliders. Cline came to Slippery Rock after spending the past two seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies' organization. He posted a 14-5 record with a 4.20 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 150 innings over 34 games (25 starts) with the Phillies.

Greg Jelks will be on the All-Star Game coaching staff for the sixth consecutive year, including serving as field manager for the 2003 game while with the Evansville Otters.

The 2007 Frontier League All-Star Game will be held on Wednesday, July 11 at Champion Window Field in Florence, Kentucky. Ticket can game information can be found at www.florencefreedom.com.

The Slippery Rock Sliders return to Jack Critchfield Park on Monday, July 16 when they open a three-game homestand with the Kalamazoo Kings.
