The Freedom will are represented by the South team, and the South's roster is loaded. It includes Frontier League batting leader Ralph Santana, who is hitting .385. His teammate Chris Hall will also start, he is hitting .377 with five homeruns and 24 RBI. The outfield will not only feature Florence's Reggie Watson, but also the Gateway combo of Stephen Holdren and Dustin Roberts. The two have combined for 22 homeruns, 62 RBI, and 70 runs scored.
The Freedom's own Reggie Watson will appear in his first professional All-Star game. The La Salle High and Indiana University grad is hitting .323 with two homeruns, 19 RBI, and 12 stolen bases entering tonight's contest in Slippery Rock. Reggie is one of the fastest players in the league, and possibly the best outfielder defensively.
Florence's first baseman/DH Beau Blacken was elected to his third Frontier League All-Star game. Beau is having a great season, he is hitting .308 with eight homeruns and 36 RBI. Blacken won the homerun derby to decide the All-Star game last year as a member of the Evansville Otters. No word yet on who will participate in the pre-game homerun derby, but Blacken sure is a worthy candidate for the hometown crowd.
