Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti News Release
A four run fifth inning propelled the Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti over the Traverse City Beach Bums 5-2 at Wuerfel Park.
Jon Haldis started for Midwest and threw two perfect innings, but was pulled after the second. Adam Dominick came in and did a phenomenal job saving the bullpen tossing seven innings allowing two runs on just four hits and earning the victory.
Lee Rubin put the Sliders on the scoreboard in the fourth when he doubled in Robbie Knapp who singled earlier in the inning.
Midwest scratched out four runs in the fifth one just three hits. They took advantage of Beach Bums walks. After they issued two walks Joash Brodin, Knapp, and Jeremy Jones each drove in a Slider run and Rubin had another RBI to get the Sliders score to five.
The Sliders complete the series with the Bums Tuesday and Wednesday nights at 7:05 p.m. before enjoying a day off Thursday.
