Avon, OH - The Lake Erie Crushers will kick off their final series of the regular season on Friday September 4th with a special "Pack the Park for a Cure" night to help in the fight against breast cancer. Gates open at 6:00 p.m. with the first pitch set for 7:05 p.m.
The Crushers will donate $2 from every ticket sold at All Pro Freight Stadium on Friday night and to the Moll Pavilion at the Cleveland Clinic's Fairview Hospital in their continuing fight to find a cure for breast cancer.
The Lake Erie Crusher players will wear special pink jerseys to mark the occasion as they take on the Midwest Sliders Friday evening. Fans can bid on player's game worn jerseys throughout the game at a special concourse table followed by a special live auction post game with all proceeds to benefit Moll Pavilion.
Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game and be part of a special 'pink human ribbon' that will decorate the field at All Pro Freight Stadium prior to the game. The Crushers will also be handing out pink ribbons at the gate, provided by Zeta Tau Alpha as part of their "Think Pink" campaign.
Following the game, fans will be able to enjoy the final "Fireworks Friday" show of the season, courtesy of AM 930 WEOL radio.
"This promises to be one of the most important nights of the year for the Lake Erie Crushers," says team owner Steven Edelson. "Our entire focus will be to raise awareness and hopefully make a real impact in the ongoing battle against breast cancer."
The Lake Erie Crushers, the Frontier League's newest team wrap up their inaugural regular season Sunday, September 6th at 5:05pm at All Pro Freight Stadium. All Pro Freight Stadium, the new 5,000 capacity ballpark is located at the intersection of I-90 and Route 611 in Avon. 2010 Season tickets are on sale now!
