
Lawson Named Goaltender of the Month for December

Fort Wayne, IN --- The United Hockey League's Goaltender of the Month for December, 2002, is Tom Lawson. Lawson is top goalie of the month for the 2nd consecutive month after getting the honor for November as well. He's the first Komet UHL goalie to take the monthly honor twice in a season.
Lawson was 4-1-3, earned a 1.92 average, 1 shutout and a .923 save percentage in 9 appearances for December. Lawson stopped 181 of the 196 shots faced during the month has allowed 1 goal or less in his last 6 straight appearances. Overall, Lawson has allowed 1 goal or less in 15 of 24 appearances thus far this season.
The 23-year-old Whitby, Ontario native is a 3-time UHL Goaltender of the Week so far this season after receiving the honor for his performance last week.
Lawson (13-6-3) currently ranks first among UHL goalies with a 1.68 goals against average, .931 save percentage and 4 shutouts in 24 games.
