The Baton Rouge Kingfish announced today that they have acquired defenseman Mike Perna in a trade with the Augusta Lynx for cash and center Yann Joseph in a trade with the Trenton Titans for cash.

Perna began the season with Augusta where he tallied a goal in 11 games for the Lynx. The 6-1, 200-pound defenseman was a +9 while picking up 23 penalty minutes with the Lynx.

The Toronto, Ontario native began his professional career with the Huntington Blizzard where he tallied 7 goals in four seasons. Last year he played in 39 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones and picked up 8 points.

Joseph comes to the Kingfish from Trenton where he tallied 5 goals and 7 assists in 28 games for the Titans.

The St. Bruno, Quebec native split time last season with the New Mexico Scorpions and the Corpus Christi Icerays where he accumulated 8 goals and 20 assists in 60 games in the Central Hockey League.

Perna and Joseph will help solidify a Kingfish roster that is without Steve Cheredaryk (30-day IR), Forrest Gore (30-day IR) and Brian Leitza (7-day IR).

Perna should be available for the Kingfish's 7:05 p.m. match up with the Ice Pilots tomorrow and Joseph should be available for Saturday's contest with the Louisiana IceGators.
