
Generals move within one point of first

Greensboro Generals News Release
GREENSBORO, NC - The Greensboro Generals moved one point from the lead in the Northeast Division lead. A 2-1 victory on a shootout goal by Pete Gardiner was the winning goal for the Generals (21-8-4).
For the ninth time in the last ten games, the Generals allowed the first goal scored on a shot by Trenton's John Nail at the 9:29 point of the first period. In the process of stopping the Titans to a single goal, the Generals defense stopped six power play attempts. Netminder Daniel Berthiaume led the defensive charge with a 34 save performance, moving his record to 15-5-3 on the season.
Greensboro would tie the game at 1-1 with a power play goal off the stick of Chris Allen. The goal was Allen's second goal of the year. Following a scoreless third period and overtime, the Generals headed to a shootout.
In the sixth round, the Generals Geno Parrish would tie the shootout at 2-2 setting up a sudden death round. Gardiner would score the game winning goal in the eighth round, giving the Generals the decisive 2-1 victory.
