
Late Rally Gives Captains 3-2 Win

Lake County Captains News Release
(Dayton, OH) - Lake County (22-24) scored three runs in the eighth inning and won the ballgame over Dayton (25-22) by a final of 3-2. The big hit in the inning was a one out two-run single by Aaron Siliga. Siliga's hit was only the second of the night of the Captains and one of three in the ballgame. Zack MacPhee had a sacrifice fly to plate the winning run in the 3-2 win.
Dayton scored first in the ballgame. The leadoff hitter in the ballgame for Dayton was Sammy Diaz. Diaz drilled his third homerun of the season over the wall in right field and the score was 1-0. The Dragons made it 2-0 when Jesse Winker doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly by Tanner Rahier. The Dragons left eight runners on base.
RHP Felix Sterling (3-4) started the game for Lake County and did not get a decision. Felix pitched five innings and allowed five hits, two earned runs, one walk and three strikeouts. Sterling allowed the homer to Diaz. Luis Dejesus (5-11) earned the win after pitching two and two thirds innings pitched. He allowed three hits a walk and fanned two in his scoreless outing. Grant Sides got the last four outs of the ballgame and earned his fifth save of the season. Sides just allowed one hit and lowered his era to 0.57.
Dayton sent LHP Ismael Guillon (4-7) to the mound to start the game and did not get the decision. Guillon pitched five innings and allowed one hit, five walks and four strikeouts. The Dragon Bullpen pitched four innings in relief and the loss went to Jesus Adames (2-3). He pitched just one third of an inning, and allowed one hit and three runs, one was earned and one walk. The Dragons walked a total of 10 hitters and struck out 10.
The Captains will be back in action on Friday Night in Dayton, OH to take on the Dayton Dragons in the finale of a three game set. The Captains will start RHP Jake Sisco (4-9, 4.39) and Dayton will counter with RHP Nick Travieso (5-3, 5.10) First Pitch is at 7:07 PM from Fifth Third Field.
