Entertainment Ramps Up for Loons Final 13 Games

MIDLAND, Mich. - The Great Lakes Loons are excited to announce the addition of an All-You-Can-Eat Picnic and Harry Potter Night to the remainder of their 2013 promotional schedule. The All-You-Can-Eat Picnic will take place in the Northern Lights Pavilion during the Loons Regular Season Finale on Friday, August 30. Tickets are just $15 and include all-you-can-eat hot dogs, Better Made Potato Chips, cookies and Coca-Cola products.

Harry Potter Night is Friday, August 23 and will include a Postgame Fireworks Loontacular, powered by Dow Corning. This season, the Loons have had 14 Fireworks Loontaculars, the most in a single season in Loons history. The remaining fireworks shows are scheduled for August 10, 17, 23 and 30.

Headlining the final month of 2013 are appearances by Michigan State legends Greg Kelser and Jud Heathcote, as part of the Michigan Legends Series. Kelser was a forward on the Spartans 1979 NCAA championship team and was drafted fourth overall in the 1979 NBA Draft. The Florida native is now an analyst on basketball broadcasts for Fox Sports Detroit and the Big Ten Network. Heathcote won 339 games in 19 seasons as MSU's head basketball coach, including the 1979 championship season.

Kelser and Heathcote will visit Dow Diamond on Wednesday, August 21. Also remaining in the series is a Tiger Stadium Replica Giveaway on Wednesday, August 28. Replicas will be given to the first 1,000 fans through the gate.

Other scheduled appearances at Dow Diamond in 2013 include Reggy: The Purple Party Dude on Sunday, August 18 and BirdZerk! on Thursday, August 22. Raining Money Night, presented by Chemical Bank, was postponed on the original date (July 26) and will return to Dow Diamond on August 22.

Chemical Bank's $1 Family Feast Nights will continue for the remaining Thursday home games, which are August 22 and 29. Fans in attendance can enjoy $1 hot dogs, Better Made Potato Chips, 16 oz. Coke products and ice cream sandwiches.

There are two Social Media Mondays left in the 2013 season, on August 12 and 19. Fans can check in at guest services to participate in the Loons iHunt contest for a chance to win an iPad Mini. Family Fun in the SUNdays, including Postgame Kids Run the Bases, will also continue on the remaining Sunday home games, which are August 11 and 18.

Other theme nights of note are Country Western Night (August 10), Fellowship Day and a Loons Hat Giveaway (August 11), Middle School Athletics Night (August 17), Dodgers Route of Champions Night (August 20) and Labor Union Night (August 22).
