Late Homer Sends Erie to a Loss

The SeaWolves allowed a late home run and dropped the finale of a four-game series, 2-1, to the Harrisburg Senators on Monday at Metro Bank Park.

The SeaWolves jumped ahead in the third inning against Senators starter Austin Voth. Curt Powell walked with one out and scored on a two-out Jeff McVaney knock for a 1-0 lead. It was the first run allowed by Voth in 18 innings.

Harrisburg tied the game in the third against Erie starter Tommy Collier. With two outs, Isaac Ballou walked and stole second. Derrick Robinson doubled home Ballou, tying the game at 1-1.

The game remained tied until the seventh inning when Cutter Dykstra clobbered a two-out, solo home run off of Joe Mantiply for a 2-1 Senators advantage.

Mantiply (1-2) took the loss allowing a run on one hit with two walks and two strikeouts in two innings of work.

Collier took a no-decision allowing a run on three hits with two walks and six strikeouts.
