B-Mets Complete Sweep, Sail into Break, 7-2

PORTLAND, ME - The Binghamton Mets used seven strong innings from Gabriel Ynoa and a pair of three-run frames to defeat the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-2, on Monday afternoon at Hadlock Field. The B-Mets closed their season series with the Sea Dogs with a four-game sweep, compiling a perfect 10-0 mark at Hadlock Field. Binghamton heads into the All-Star break on a five-game winning streak, sitting in third-place in the Eastern Division.

Playing catch-up after Gabriel Ynoa allowed a run in the first, the B-Mets busted out the lumber in the second. With two aboard, Dustin Lawley ripped a two-run double off the top of the Maine Monster in left-field. Xorge Carrillo capped the three-run inning by blooping a run-producing single into shallow left.

Binghamton hung another three-spot on Augliera in the fifth. After the righty walked the first two batters of the inning, LJ Mazzilli pulled a two-run double inside third, plating Gilbert Gomez and Gavin Cecchini. Aderlin Rodriguez stretched Binghamton's lead to five with a single to left.

Ynoa set sail for the All-Star break after Binghamton gave him the lead. The righty retired 17 straight Sea Dogs, tossing five consecutive perfect innings. Ynoa needed just 52 pitches to get from the second through the sixth. He capped his day by stranding two in a scoreless seventh.

Adam Kolarek was touched for an unearned run in the eighth before Josh Smoker struck out two in a blank ninth.

Ynoa (6-6) allowed one run on four hits over seven innings to earn his fourth win in six starts. Augliera (2-13) was tagged for six runs on seven hits and lasted 4-2/3 innings in his seventh career loss to the B-Mets.

Dario Alvarez, Gavin Cecchini, Josh Rodriguez and Brandon Nimmo will represent the B-Mets in Portland at the Eastern League All-Star Classic on Wednesday night. Rodriguez will take part in the Home Run Derby prior to the game.

The B-Mets (47-42) return to action after the two-day All-Star break on Thursday night at 6:35 PM as they start a four-game series against the first-place Trenton Thunder. POSTGAME NOTES: It was Binghamton's first four-game series sweep since May 23-27, 2014 against the New Britain Rock Cats...the victory was Binghamton's 12th straight win at Hadlock Field, dating back to the 2014 postseason run...Binghamton's 10 wins at Hadlock Field are the most in one road venue in one season in franchise history
