
Electricity Maine Home Run Derby Participants Announced

Portland, Maine - The Portland Sea Dogs, in conjunction with the Eastern League of Professional Baseball, are pleased to announce the players who will be supplying the power for the 2015 Electricity Maine Home Run Derby, which will take place at Hadlock Field on Wednesday, July 15th, at 5:15 PM as part of the 2015 Sullivan Tire All-Star Classic festivities.
The Eastern Division will be represented by Brock Stassi (Reading), Josh Rodriguez (Binghamton), Gary Sanchez (Trenton), KC Hobson (New Hampshire), and Jantzen Witte (Portland).
The Western Division will be represented by Anthony Gallas (Akron), Ricky Oropesa (Richmond), Rossmel Perez (Bowie), Dean Green (Erie), and Dan Gamache (Altoona).
Three of the top ten home run hitters in the league will be represented by the Eastern squad: Josh Rodriguez (13, T-1st), Gary Sanchez (12, T-2nd), and KC Hobson (10, T-4th). Dean Green and Ricky Oropesa lead the Western team with ten home runs each.
The Home Run Derby will use a team format (Eastern vs. Western), consisting of three rounds. In the first round each player will get ten outs, anything not a home run will be an out. The top two players from each team will advance to round two. After the second round, the top player from each team will advance to the finals.
Limited tickets for the Sullivan Tire All-Star Classic are available and can be purchased by visiting the Sea Dogs' Ticket Office at Hadlock Field, calling 800-936-3647, or online at seadogs.com.
The Hadlock Field gates will open at 3:00 PM on July 15th. Festivities begin with autograph sessions with the all-stars presented by the Asylum Sports Bar & Grill, followed by the Electricity Maine Home Run Derby at 5:15 PM. The All-Star Game begins at 7:00 PM and a fireworks show presented by Coca-Cola will be held post-game.
The All-Star Classic will be televised regionally throughout New England on NESN with Tom Caron and Mike Antonellis on the call, via the web on MiLB.tv, and on radio on 95.5 and 95.9 FM WPEI, as well as online via the TuneIn Radio App.
