Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today that center Eric Lampe and left wing Josh Lunden have both been loaned to American Hockey League teams. Lampe has been called up to the Norfolk Admirals, while Lunden is returning to the St. John's IceCaps.
Lampe, 26, has tallied 14 goals and 30 points in his second season with the Wranglers. The 5-foot-11, 170-pound center opened the year in training camp with the AHL's Houston Aeros, and was called up twice last season to the Lake Erie Monsters and Hamilton Bulldogs. A native of Madison, Wisc., Lampe leaves Las Vegas as the team's leading scorer, holding season highs for most assists in a game (4) and most shots on goal in a game (10).
Lunden, 26, has collected six goals and 16 points in his third season in Las Vegas, which included a nine-game point streak (Nov. 10, 2012 - Jan. 1, 2013) that resulted in three goals and six assists. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound left wing opened the season in training camp with the IceCaps, and was called up to the team twice last year between AHL stints with the Peoria Rivermen and Houston Aeros as well. Originally from Coquitlam, British Columbia, the Wranglers' alternate captain signed an entry-level contract with the NHL's Phoenix Coyotes in 2010.
The Wranglers play three games on the road before returning on Saturday, Jan. 19, at 7:05 p.m. to face the Colorado Eagles. For that game, the team will wear specialty 10th "FANniversary" jerseys featuring photos of 10-year season ticket holders, and celebrate the milestone throughout the game. The jerseys, presented by Diamondback Land Surveying, will be auctioned during the game on the Orleans Arena concourse and proceeds will benefit Children's Hospital of Nevada at UMC.
Celebrating 10 seasons of Wranglers hockey this year, group events are available at all home games, including pre-game ice skating parties, private luxury suites, and rink-side catered party boxes. Groups of ten or more can sit together starting at $13 per ticket, and feature perks such as in-game group recognition and "buy one, get one free" Chuck-A-Puck vouchers. Take advantage of the best deals by calling the Wranglers front office at (702) 471-PUCK . The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at Orleans Arena, located next to the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Ave.
