Manchester Monarchs News Release

MANCHESTER, NH - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have recalled goaltender Jason LaBarbera (from his conditioning assignment) from the Monarchs, Kings President of Hockey Operations/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today.

LaBarbera, 25, appeared in three games with the Monarchs, posting a record of 1-1-1, a 3.25 goals-against-average and a .907 save-percentage, after being assigned by the Kings to Manchester on January 11 on a conditioning assignment. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound native of Burnaby, British Columbia, has also appeared in 16 games with the Kings this season, posting a record of 8-6-2, a 3.10 goals-against-average and a .892 save-percentage. LaBarbera began the season with five consecutive wins to tie the franchise mark (held by Daniel Berthiaume) for most wins by a Kings goaltender to start a season.

Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the third-round (66th overall) in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, LaBarbera was signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on August 2, 2005. In 21 career regular season NHL games with the Kings and the Rangers, LaBarbera has a 9-8-2 record, a 3.38 goals-against-average and a .881 save-percentage.

The Monarchs begin a four-game road trip on Wednesday, January 18 with a 7:00 p.m. face-off with the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Hartford Civic Center.
