Today Ryan Shannon was named the Pirates Player of the Week. Shannon had two goals on Saturday against Hartford in the Pirates 5-4 win and carries a five game point-scoring streak heading into the Pirates game against Lowell. On Wednesday, Shannon will join "The Morning Jab" on WJAB 1440AM/95.5FM at 8:00 a.m.
Portland Pirates forwards Corey Perry, Dustin Penner, Ryan Getzlaf and Ryan Shannon have been selected to play in this year's 2006 RBK Hockey AHL All-Star Classic.

UPCOMING PROMOTIONS
Friday, January 27th vs. Springfield 7:05 p.m. - The Portland Pirates are teaming up with Junior Achievement for the "Expeditionary Learning High School Game". Nineteen ninth grade students at Portland's Expeditionary Learning High School will present and sell tickets for the game against Springfield. The students have planned a Pirate costume contest so be sure to wear your best Pirate attire. After the game, there will be a skate with the team.

Saturday, January 28th vs. Toronto Marlies 7:05 p.m. - Port City Life Night! The first 1,000 fans will receive a free copy of the new Romance issue of Port City Life featuring the Pirates players. Fifty fans will have the chance to meet and greet Tim Brent, Shane O'Brien and Geoff Peters after the game, plus one lucky fan will win a Romantic Getaway in Portland. Saturday is also AAA Member Appreciation Night. The first 1,000 fans will receive AAA tote bags.
IN THE COMMUNITY
On Tuesday, January 24th, two Pirates players will appear at the Nathan Clitoker School in Portland to help promote the Goals for Success program. This program is sponsored by Healthy Maine Partnerships and Pepsi.
On Wednesday, January 25th, Pirates players will be at the new Hannaford in Portland on Route 302 (787 Riverside Street) from 6-7 p.m. The Pirates will meet with fans, sign autographs, and giveaway Pirates tickets!
