Weller Assumes Wolf Pack Captaincy

Hartford, January 16, 2006: Hartford Wolf Pack general manager head coach Jim Schoenfeld announced today that right-wing Craig Weller has been named the team's captain, in a vote by the players. Left-wing Chad Wiseman and defenseman Martin Grenier were chosen as the alternate captains.

For the first 40 games of the season, the Wolf Pack rotated several different players as alternate captains. Current assistant coach Ken Gernander had worn the captain's "C" throughout the entire eight-year history of the Wolf Pack prior to this season.

The Wolf Pack are back in action at the Hartford Civic Center this Wednesday night, January 18th, taking on the Manchester Monarchs in a 7:00 game. As with all Wednesday-night home games, selected Wolf Pack players will be conducting a free autograph session after the game in Center Court of the Civic Center Mall. After a Friday-night visit to Providence (7:05 faceoff), the Pack will return home to host the Bruins Saturday (7:00) and the Lowell Lock Monsters on Sunday (4:00).

Individual tickets for Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Hartford Civic Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations, including Filene's at the Buckland Hills Mall and at the Westfarms Mall.
