L.V. 51s Host Fresno Grizzlies in 4-Game Series

LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will return to Cashman Field for a brief four-game homestand against the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, beginning on Saturday, August 20 at 7:05 p.m. The series will conclude on Tuesday, August 23, all games at 7:05 p.m.
The 51s, under manager Marty Brown, are currently 63-62, .504 on the season and in second place in the Pacific Southern Division, 10 games behind Sacramento (73-52, .584). The 51s are currently on an eight-game Tennessee road trip that will conclude in Memphis against the Redbirds, Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, on Friday evening. Las Vegas is also concluding a stretch of 16 straight games against American Conference opponents (August 3-19).
Las Vegas is averaging 4,324 fans (268,092) through 62 home dates in the 2011 campaign. The season-high crowd was 11,001 vs. Round Rock on May 17. The Las Vegas franchise has reached the 300,000 plateau in "home" attendance in all 28 seasons (1983-2010) and the all-time total now stands at 9,629,058.
The opener of the homestand on Saturday will feature Back To School Pencil Packs, to the first 1,500 fans 12 years of age and younger through the gates (open at 6 p.m.).
Carl's Jr. Family Night will also be presented on Saturday. Fans can purchase the deal that includes: 4 Tickets; 4 Carl's Jr. $4 Food Coupons; 4 Las Vegas 51s Hats and the price ranges are $36 for Reserved; $48 for Plaza; $52 for Field. The remaining date is: Friday, September 2.
Game three of the series will feature Value Menu Monday on August 22. The 51s and Aramark have teamed together for discounted food items on Hot Dogs, Popcorn, Peanuts, Cracker Jacks and Pretzels for just $1.00 per item.
The final T-Shirt Tuesdays will be presented in the finale of the homestand on August 23. Matt Kemp T-Shirt Night, will be featured to the first 1,000 fans through the gates. Kemp, a member of the Los Angeles Dodgers, played two seasons for the 51s from 2006-07. In 2011, the National League All-Star has appeared in 122 games and is batting .319 (6th in N.L.) with 28 home runs and 89 RBI (tied for 2nd in N.L. in RBI and tied for 3rd in HR). In 2009, Kemp became the first player in Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers franchise history with 25 home runs, 30 steals and 100 RBI in a single season in 2009.

Fresno's roster features one of the top 10 prospects in the Giants organization, according to Baseball America: shortstop Brandon Crawford (No. 6).
Following the homestand, Las Vegas will embark on its final road trip of the season. The nine-game trip will begin on Wednesday, August 24 in Salt Lake City, Utah against the Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The five-game series will conclude on Sunday, August 28. The 51s will then travel to Sacramento, Calif., to face division rival, the River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A's, in a four-game series from Monday-Thursday, August 29 - September 1.
The 51s will broadcast all games on Lotus Broadcasting on Fox Sports Radio 920 AM, which will carry live all 144 regular season games. Also, all games will be available on the 51s website (Major League Baseball Advanced Media, MLBAM) at www.LV51.com . Russ Langer, the six-time Nevada Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportscasters and Sportswriters Association (NSSA), is in his 12th season behind the microphone calling 51s baseball.

Tickets for the 51s remaining eight home games can be purchased at the Cashman Field box office. The box office is open Monday-Friday (non game days) from Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased through Ticketmaster (1-800-745-3000, www.ticketmaster.com). Ticketmaster outlets are located at selected Smith's Food & Drug.
The individual game tickets for the 72-game home season are priced at $10.00 (reserved), $13.00 (plaza) and $14.00 (field). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza and reserved seats throughout the season.
