Fort Wayne, IN-- The ECHL announced today that Fort Wayne goaltender Roman Will has been named to the 2014-15 ECHL All-Rookie Team. The All-Rookie Team was selected in a vote of ECHL coaches, broadcasters, media relations directors and media, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards. A rookie is defined as a player who has played in less than 25 pro games prior to the start of the current season.

Will, 22, has appeared in 22 games with the Komets registering a 15-8-4 record and ranks seventh in the league, first among rookies with a 2.45 goals-against average. He ranks fourth among league netminders with a .919 save percentage.

The Pilsen, Czech Republic native has strung together a nine-game home unbeaten (in regulation) streak (7-0-2) and is riding a four-game home winning streak going into tonight's home game against Cincinnati.

Will becomes the first Komet to be named to an ECHL All-Rookie Team. Will is the first Fort Wayne player to be named to an All-Rookie Team since Frankie DeAngelis (D) was named to the 2009-10 International Hockey League All-Rookie Team. It's the first time a Fort Wayne goalie has been named to an All-Rookie Team since Doug Teskey snagged the award during the 1999-2000 United Hockey League campaign.

Also named to the 2014-15 ECHL All-Rookie Team: Justin Baker (D), Allen Americans; Steven Shamanski (D), Elmira Jackals; Derek Army (F), Wheeling Nailers; Tyler Barnes (F), Toledo Walleye; Jason Bast (F), Idaho Steelheads.
