(Toledo, OH) - 2014-15 has been a special season for the Toledo Walleye players and the accolades continue to come down as the ECHL announced its 2014-15 All-Rookie Team featuring forward Tyler Barnes.

Barnes leads the Walleye and all ECHL rookies in points with 69. He ranks second to teammate Shane Berschbach (42) in assists with 40 and he is third for first year players in goals (29). His ten power play goals are also the most for a rookie and he is tied for first with 17 power play points. The native of Burnsville, Minnesota has been deadly in the shootout as well leading all rookies with six shootout goals this year (in 8 attempts).

"A well-deserved recognition for Tyler," Said Head Coach Derek Lalonde. "He has improved vastly throughout the season and has been a consistent point producer to help lead our team."

Barnes was named ECHL Rookie of the Month for December when he had seven goals and ten assists. Prior to turning professional, the 24 year old forward spent four seasons at the University of Wisconsin. He scored 45 goals with 58 assists in 152 games for the Badgers.
