(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) - Second baseman Lenyn Sosa ripped two hits and drove home two runs to help lead the Charlotte Knights to a 3-1 win over the Memphis Redbirds on Thursday night in game three of the six-game series from Truist Field in Uptown Charlotte. The Knights rallied late to score two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to go on for the win.

The Knights received strong pitching and timely hitting on Thursday en route to the team's first win of the homestand. Sosa put the Knights on the scoreboard first and did so with an RBI single in the bottom of the first inning. The 1-0 lead lasted until the top of the fourth inning when Memphis slugger Moises Gomez launched a solo home run, his 22nd of the season.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Charlotte's team leader Víctor Reyes continued his solid season and singled home the go-ahead run. Reyes, who leads the Knights in batting average (.302), home runs (17) and RBI (67), went 2-for-4 with an RBI on the evening.

One batter later, Sosa singled home his team's third run of the game to make it a 3-1 lead. For Sosa, he finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBI to pace the Charlotte offense. In all, the Knights tallied 10 hits and had four players with multi-hit games (Sosa, Reyes, Nate Mondou and Erik González).

LHP Garrett Davila started Thursday's game and was sharp over five innings. Despite not factoring in the decision, Davila allowed just one run on five hits and struck out eight batters. RHP Luke Farrell (2-3, 7.25) earned the win after he tossed two shutout innings in relief of Davila. Relievers Nick Padilla and Declan Cronin pitched a scoreless inning each to close out the game for the Knights. Cronin loaded the bases in the ninth inning, but held on for his second save of the season.

The Knights will continue the six-game homestand against the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals) on Friday night in Uptown Charlotte. The "Voice of the Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action on www.CharlotteKnights.com, MiLB.tv and the Bally Live app. First pitch is set for 7:04 p.m. from Truist Field on Friday.
