(DURHAM, NC) -- The Charlotte Knights dropped the finale of the six-game series against the Durham Bulls by a score of 4-2 on Sunday night from Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, NC. The Knights posted a 1-5 record in the series.

Charlotte second baseman Yolbert Sánchez drove home both of the team's runs in the game on Sunday night. The 25-year-old gave the Knights a 1-0 lead in the top of the third inning on a fielder's choice, which scored shortstop Zach Remillard. Two innings later, Sánchez ripped a ground-rule double, which brought Adam Haseley home for the team's second run of the game.

In the ninth inning, with the Knights down by two runs, the team began to mount a comeback. Third baseman Laz Rivera started the inning off with a walk. Two batters later, Mark Payton also drew a walk to give the Knights the tying run on first base with just one out. After Haseley struck-out for the second out of the inning, Sánchez came to the plate for a chance to drive in more runs. Instead, Sánchez recorded a two-out single, but Rivera was caught on the base paths and thrown out at third base to end the game.

Chicago White Sox RHP Lance Lynn started the game for the Knights and was sharp over three innings of work. The two-time MLB All-Star, who is on a major league rehab assignment as he recovers from knee surgery, allowed just two hits over three shutout innings. He struck-out three batters and threw 39 pitches, 24 for strikes.

RHP Brody Koerner (0-4, 8.36) came on in relief of Lynn and was saddled with the loss. Koerner allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits over three innings. LHP Kyle Kubat (1.0 IP) and RHP Yacksel Ríos (1.0 IP) combined to hold the Bulls scoreless over the final two innings.

The Knights will now have an off day on Monday before returning home to Truist Field to open a six-game homestand on Tuesday against the Memphis Redbirds (Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals). First pitch on Tuesday is set for 6:35 p.m. from Uptown Charlotte. The game can also be heard live on 730 The Game ESPN Charlotte and www.CharlotteKnights.com. The "Voice of the Charlotte Knights" Matt Swierad and long-time broadcaster Mike Pacheco will have the call for all of the action.
