Kings Assign Four Players To Manchester

EL SEGUNDO, CA. - The Los Angeles Kings have assigned forwards Jared Aulin and Scott Barney, defenseman Joe Corvo, and goaltender Cristobal Huet to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League (AHL), Kings Senior Vice President/General Manager Dave Taylor announced today. The Monarchs also today recalled forward Jeff Giuliano from the Reading Royals of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL).

Aulin, 20, has played in 14 games for the Kings this season, recording one point (an assist) and zero penalty minutes. In 32 games this season with the Monarchs, he has 32 points (8-24=32) and 17 penalty minutes, with his 24 assists tops on the club. The 6-foot-0, 192-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, made NHL debut earlier this season (December 17).

Barney, 23, has played in four games for the Kings this season, recording zero points and zero penalty minutes. In 35 games this season with the Monarchs, he has 15 points (10-5=15) and 47 penalty minutes, with his six game-winning goals tops of the club. The 6-foot-4, 208-pound native of Oshawa, Ontario, made his NHL debut earlier this season (January 25).

Corvo, 26, has played in 24 games for the Kings this season, recording five points (3-2=5) and four penalty minutes. In 26 games with the Monarchs this season, he has 26 points (8-18=24) and eight penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound native of Oak Park, IL, made his NHL debut earlier this season (December 14).

Huet, 27, has not played in a game for the Kings this season. In 25 games with the Monarchs this season, he has a 13-7-4 record, a 2.39 goals against average, a .918 save percentage and one shutout. The 6-foot-0, 194-pound native of St. Martin D'Heres, France, has not appeared in an NHL game.

Guliano, 23, has played in 11 games for the Monarchs this season, recording five points (1-4=5) and no penalty minutes. In 38 games for the Royals this season, he has 30 points (7-23=30) and six penalty minutes. The 5-foot-9, 190-pound native of Nashua, NH, is back for his fourth stint with the Monarchs this season.

The Kings next take on the Phoenix Coyotes on Wednesday, February 5, at STAPLES Center beginning at 7:30 p.m. (10:30 EST). The game will be broadcast on FOX Sports Net, ESPN Radio 710-KSPN and along the Kings Radio Network.

The Monarchs (26-10-5-3, 60 points, 2nd-North Division) next home game is scheduled for later tonight at the Verizon Wireless Arena when they host the Hartford Wolf Pack at 7:35 p.m. The first 3,000 fans at tonight's game will receive a free Monarchs T-Shirt, courtesy of Crowley Foods.

The Monarchs and the University of New Hampshire will host the "Maine Event" on Saturday, February 1 at the Verizon Wireless Arena. On that date, the Monarchs are scheduled to entertain the Portland Pirates at 1:05 p.m., and the Wildcats are scheduled to host the University of Maine Black Bears at 7:00 p.m. Sellouts are expected for both games.
