Worcester IceCats News Release

WORCESTER, MA - Late last night, St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President and General Manager Larry Pleau assigned forward Eric Nickulas back to the club's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate in Worcester. The IceCats Captain was originally recalled by the Blues on Wednesday afternoon.

Nickulas, who has scored 11 goals and six assists in 23 games with the IceCats this season, did not participate in last night's 2-1 Blues victory over the Buffalo Sabres, the only St. Louis game played during his recall.

The Bay State born Nickulas is in his second season with the IceCats, originally signing as a free agent with Worcester in October 2001. In 54 games last season, he grabbed 11 goals and 25 assists in 54 games: 54(11/25/36). The Blues subsequently signed him on July 16, 2002.

Nickulas was a third round 1994 draft pick of the Boston Bruins. He made his NHL debut with the Bruins during the 1998-99 season, two years after wrapping up a standout career at the University of New Hampshire. His regular season NHL totals, all with the Bruins, reflect 29 games, five goals and six assists: 29(5/6/11).

The IceCats travel to Connecticut tonight for a 7:35 faceoff with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Worcester then welcomes the Binghamton Senators on Saturday night at 7:05 PM. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, including the Box Office at Worcester's Centrum Centre.
