Flames Recall Defenseman Leopold

Calgary, AB - Calgary Flames Vice-President & General Manager Craig Button announced today defenceman Jordan Leopold has been recalled from the Saint John Flames of the American Hockey League.

Leopold played in 30 games with Calgary earlier this season recording seven points (2 goal, 5 assists) and eight penalty minutes. In three games with Saint John Leopold posted three points (1 goal, 2 assists). The 22 year-old rearguard is in his first season with the Flames following a four-year college career with the University of Minnesota. The native of Golden Valley, MN was selected in the second round, 44th overall, in the 1999 Entry Draft. The Flames acquired Leopold from Anaheim on September 26, 2000 for Andrei Nazarov and a second round choice in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.
