Key Road Series For Oilers

Tulsa Oilers News Release


1 MS, 2 MS: It'll be one Mississippi, two Mississippi for the Tulsa Oilers this week as they play two games on the road against the Mississippi RiverKings. The Oilers play there Friday and Saturday. Both games start at 7:05 p.m. and can be accessed via the internet at www.tulsaoilers.com and CHL TV.

Good Finish: After dropping a 4-2 loss to the Missouri Mavericks on Tuesday, the Oilers responded with a 3-2 win over the Evansville IceMen on Friday and a 5-1 win over the Wichita Thunder on Saturday.

Holy Goalie!: Goaltender Ian Keserich had a stellar week for the Oilers. He came on in relief against Missouri and gave up just one goal in 46 minutes. He stopped 35 shots against Evansville and was saving his best for last in the week. Keserich made 52 saves against Wichita as the Oilers won the game in spite of being outshot 53-12.

In And Out: The Oilers had a busy week in connecting with teams in the American Hockey League. Chad Costello returned from Lake Erie for the games Friday and Saturday and stretched his CHL point streak to 19 games. Costello reported back to Lake Erie on Sunday. Jack Combs reported to the Chicago wolves of the AHL, and goaltender Trevor Cann is back with Lake Erie as well.

Big B: Right winger Brandon Sugden, who had most recently played in the Kontinental Hockey League in Russia, signed with the Oilers prior to Friday's game. He played Friday and Saturday and registered five penalty minutes.
