Quad City Mallards News Release
*QUACK TRACKS*
*Tight *The Mallards went 1-2-0 while playing three one-goal games in as many nights over the weekend. The Mallards are now in fifth place in the Turner Conference, one point ahead of sixth place Wichita, one point behind fourth place Bloomington and two points behind third place Missouri.
*On the Road*
The Mallards tonight begin a stretch of five straight road games. Quad City next plays at home March 5 against Missouri.
* *
*Close Calls *After playing three straight one-goal games, the Mallards are now 15-11-1 in one-goal contests this season. Quad City is tied for the league lead in one-goal wins and has played more games (27) that have been decided by a single goal than any other club.
*Comebacks *The Mallards have come from behind in each of their last four wins and in eight of their last nine victories. On the season, the Mallards have trailed at some point in 16 of their 28 victories.
*Special Teams *Quad City remains second in the league in penalty killing (85.5 percent) and twelfth on the power play (16.7 percent).
*Slow Starts *The Mallards have given up the first goal in 13 of their last 17 games. Quad City has gone 7-5-1 in those 13 outings.

*Defensive *The Mallards allow a league-best average of 2.7 goals per game.
*Working Overtime *With last Friday's 3-2 sudden death win over Bloomington, the Mallards improved to 5-0 in games decided in overtime. Center Eric Giosa last Friday scored his second sudden death goal of the season.

The Mallards with their next win will match their 2009-10 International Hockey League victory total. The Mallards have won 28 of their first 51 games this season. Last year the Flock won 29 of its 76 games.
*Finally *Tonight's game between the Mallards and PrairieThunder has twice been rescheduled. The contest was originally slated for March 18 but was moved to February 1 because of a scheduling conflict at U.S. Cellular Coliseum and was then, in turn, rescheduled for tonight after a winter storm prevented the game from being played at the start of the month.

*G-Man *Giosa (24-19-43) leads the Mallards in goals, points and plus/minus rating (+10) and is tied for the team lead in power play goals (6). He has scored six goals and totaled 13 points in his last 11 games.
*Milestones *Should he suit up in Bloomington, center Joel Gasper (7-11-18) tonight will play the two hundredth game of his career... Center Mike McLean's (15-25-40) next assist will be the one hundredth of his career.
*Ins and Outs*
The Mallards last Saturday acquired goaltender Adrien Lemay from the American Hockey League's Texas Stars on loan...The Mallards last Saturday waived goaltender Justin Grant, who had signed with the Flock last Tuesday ...Goaltender David Brown was called up to the AHL's Toronto Marlies last Friday...Goaltender Adam Russo was activated last Friday after being granted leave by the CHL last Tuesday...Defenseman Adam Maccarone was granted leave by the league February 8.

*Bloomington*
Bloomington has gone unbeaten in regulation in its last five games (3-0-2)...The PrairieThunder has scored fewer goals (135) than any other team in the league. Bloomington averages 2.9 goals per outing...Jason Dale (16-28-44) is the PrairieThunder's top point producer...Marco Emond (21-11-1, 2.76, .899) is tied for third among goaltenders in wins...The Thunder returns home tonight after playing eight of its last ten games on the road. Bloomington has won its last three home games and is unbeaten in regulation in its last five (4-0-1)...The Mallards have gone 6-2-0 against Bloomington this season and have won the last four meetings between the two teams and six of the last seven.

*Fort Wayne*
The Komets won three games in three nights last weekend and have gone 11-2-0 in their last 13 games...The Komets have shutout the opposition three times in their last six games. After Kevin Reiter posted back-to-back shutouts February 12 and 13, Nick Boucher made 33 saves as the Komets blanked Dayton 4-0 yesterday...The Komets rank third in the CHL in goals against per game (2.9)...Reiter ranks third in the league in goals against average (2.44)...Fort Wayne ranks second in power play efficiency (19.6 percent)...Tab Lardner (24-16-40) is Fort Wayne's top scorer. Lardner has scored 21 times in 35 games since being acquired in a trade with Missouri in November...Colin Chaulk, who started the season in Italy, has scored six goals and notched 25 points in 22 games since rejoining the Komets last month...The Mallards have gone 6-3-0 against Fort Wayne this season. Quad City fell to the Komets last Saturday after winning the previous five meetings between the two teams.

*Dayton*
The Gems lost in Fort Wayne last Friday and again yesterday. Dayton is now 1-4-0 in its last five games and 3-7-1 in its last 11 outings...The Gems' 2-1 win over the Mallards last Thursday ended Dayton's four-game home losing streak...Dayton ranks seventeenth in the league in goals per game (2.9)...The Gems are now without workhorse goaltender Jeff Jakaitis, who ranks second in the CHL in save percentage (.929) and third in minutes played (2224:28), after Jakaitis last week signed with the American Hockey League's Worcester Sharks...Mike Vaskivuo (19-25-44) is Dayton's top point scorer...Former Mallard forward Chris Lipsett (9-13-22) returned from injured reserve (concussion) to score the third period game winner last Thursday against his old team...Brandon Naurato has scored ten goals and recorded 18 points in 16 games since being claimed on waivers by the Gems in December...The Mallards have gone 3-3-0 against Dayton this season.
*Evansville *
The IceMen have lost four straight games and have gone winless in regulation in six games (0-5-1) since defeating the Mallards 5-1 February 12. Evansville yesterday suffered its most lopsided loss of the season- an 8-0 home defeat at the hands of Missouri...Evansville is now 11 points behind the Gems and the eighth and final Turner Conference playoff spot. The IceMen have also dropped into last place overall...Evansville ranks second to last in the league in goals allowed per game (3.8)...Evansville's Nicklas Lindberg (13-42-55) ranks eighth in the CHL in assists...The Mallards have gone 5-4-0 against the IceMen this season.

*Between the Pipes*
"Between the Pipes," the Mallards' weekly television show, has returned on Mediacom's MC22 channel for the 2010-11 season. New editions of "Between the Pipes" air each Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and are rebroadcast several times each week. Full weekly listings of "Between the Pipes" broadcast times can be found throughout the season on MC22's website, www.mc22.net. The program features a condensed version of the Mallards' Game of the Week interspersed with interviews with Mallards Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Frank Anzalone and Mallards players, updates on the Mallards' activities in the community and more.
