BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (February 21, 2011)- The host Bloomington PrairieThunder scored three second period power play goals on the way to a 3-2 win over the Quad City Mallards Tuesday night.

The PrairieThunder entered the second trailing 1-0, but Alan Mazur's one timer from the right wing circle would even the score at the 8:58 mark. At 16:33, Bill Bagron scored from the doorstep to snap the deadlock. Ryan McLeod stretched the gap to 3-1 from point blank range at 17:55.

After being outshot 18-3 in the second, the Mallards would surge back to outshoot Bloomington 19-3 in the third period and pull within one with a power play goal of their own when Mike McLean buried a rebound with 3:20 remaining. Quad City was, however, unable to produce a late equalizer- even after pulling goaltender Adam Russo for an extra attacker with just over a minute remaining.

It was the Mallards who had first jumped in front when Obi Aduba scored on a breakaway at 11:33 of the first period.
