Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release

Beloit, WI - The Cedar Rapids Kernels were walked off 3-2 at the hands of the Beloit Sky Carp on Friday evening, falling for the first time in the season series. Cedar Rapids held a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the eighth before Beloit tied it up.

The Kernels struck first in the sixth as Christian Encarnacion-Strand singled then Aaron Sabato drew a walk followed by a Jair Camargo RBI double blasted down the right field line. Jeferson Morales lifted a sacrifice fly to plate Sabato one batter later, giving Cedar Rapids a 2-0 lead.

Beloit finally got to the Kernels' bullpen in the eighth, plating a pair on a single followed by a fielder's choice then back-to-back doubles. Cedar Rapids wouldn't score in the tenth, then Davis Bradshaw lined a walk-off single to center with one away for the Sky Carp.

Will Holland and Encarnacion-Strand each had two-hit games while Bobby Milacki worked a pair of scoreless innings in relief.

Game five of the series is set for Saturday at 6:35 p.m. CT at ABC Supply Stadium.
