Countdown to Face-off Kalamazoo Wings @ Fort Wayne Komets Memorial Coliseum Fort Wayne, IN Saturday, February 8, 2003 7:35 PM

Game Preview A rivalry will get renewed tonight, as the Kalamazoo Wings travel to Memorial Coliseum to battle the Komets. This will mark the fifth of seven meetings this season between the teams, and the last encounter in Fort Wayne. The K-Wings lead the season series with a record of 2-1-1, and also enter the game winning the last two games of this series, which includes a 2-1 victory in Fort Wayne on January 12th.

Both the K-Wings and the Komets will be looking to end losing streaks tonight. The K-Wings enter the game winless in their last 4 games, while the Komets have dropped two straight. Fort Wayne is just 5-4-1 in their last 10 games and as a result they have fallen to second place in the Eastern Conference, however, they are still just two points behind Elmira for the top spot in the Eastern Conference. To help the Komets try to deliver a knockout punch to the K-Wings, they have invited the "Greatest of All Time" Mohammed Ali to drop the puck tonight. After suffering two straight defeats to Flint, the K-Wings enter the game seven points behind the Generals for a playoff spot, however the K-Wings are still just 4 points behind Rockford for fourth place in the Western Confernece.
