Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT, WI - Down 4-0 after three innings, the Beloit Snappers (24-26) rallied in the ninth and tenth innings on Wednesday and walked off the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (23-26) on a single from Troy Johnston.
The Timber Rattlers took an early lead with two home runs in the first three innings to go up 4-0. The Snappers scored in the bottom of the fourth inning on a solo home run from Griffin Conine, his third consecutive game with a homer and 15th on the season.
The Timber Rattlers scored again in the sixth to take a 5-1 lead, but Beloit didn't go away. They scored in the seventh inning on an RBI single from Kameron Misner to cut the lead to three. The Snappers tied the game in the bottom of the ninth inning on a two-run double from Misner and an RBI single from Conine.
In the top of the tenth, L.G. Castillo belted his first home run of the season to score two runs and take a 7-5 lead into the bottom of the tenth. The Snappers tied it just four batters in thanks to an error and an RBI groundout from Thomas Jones. With the game tied at 7-7 and Scott, the winning run, on second base, Troy Johnston lofted a ball to left field that fell in front of Timber Rattlers' left fielder Je'von Ward. Scott rounded third and scored just before the tag at the plate, giving the Snappers an 8-7 win.
Beloit's Top Performers: Scott was 2-for-6 with three runs, including the winning run. Jones walked four times and drove in the tying run in the tenth. Johnston had a two-hit night with a walk-off single.
