
Joe Tallari Recalled By Sound Tigers

BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have recalled forward Joe Tallari from the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs. Tallari is expected to join the Sound Tigers in time for a pair of home games this Saturday and Sunday.
Tallari, 25, signed with the Sound Tigers last September, attended training camp with the team and was assigned to the ECHL in October. The 6'0'' 195-pounder from Thunder Bay, Ontario has 18 goals, 19 assists, 37 points and 34 penalty minutes in 55 ECHL games this season. Tallari played 11 games for the Sound Tigers on a professional tryout contract late last season notching four goals, three assists, seven points and two penalty minutes. He also posted a team-leading 32 goals, as well as 19 assists, 51 points and 56 penalty minutes in 66 ECHL games with Johnstown in addition to appearing in one AHL game with the Cleveland Barons last season. Tallari played in one AHL game with the Hartford Wolf Pack after completing his fourth and final season with Niagara University of College Hockey America in 2003-04.
The Sound Tigers will host the Springfield Falcons this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Norfolk Admirals this Sunday at 1:05 p.m. before beginning a stretch of seven straight road games when they visit Norfolk next Friday and Saturday, March 10th and 11th.
