LOOKING AHEAD: Syracuse brings an 8-0-2-1 streak into Friday night's home game against Hershey (7:30 ET)... The Bears are 4-1-0-1 in their last six overall entering the weekend, and sit four points out of first place in the East Division... Hershey defenseman Mark Wotton, who has missed the last four games due to injury, has not played at the War Memorial since he captained the Crunch for parts of four seasons from 1995-99... Mark Hartigan has scored a goal in 11 straight games for Syracuse and has recorded points in 29 of his last 30 (28g, 27a)... Crunch goalie Mike Ayers is 0-2-1 in his last three decisions after winning his previous eight starts... Hershey's Bruce Boudreau (272-216-53) and Syracuse's Gary Agnew (209-202-49) enter the night with a combined 1,001 games of AHL head coaching experience.
Iowa looks to climb back into the West Division playoff picture with three big weekend games, beginning Friday night at Peoria (7:30 CT)... The Rivermen have won five of the first seven meetings between these teams, and are 6-1-0-2 in their last nine and 10-2-0-2 in their last 14 games overall... The Stars, meanwhile, have just one win in their last 10 (1-6-0-3) and have fallen five points back of the last postseason spot in the division... Iowa's Toby Petersen leads all scorers in the season series with nine points (3g, 6a)... Aaron MacKenzie has four points (1g, 3a) in his last two games for Peoria; he had three points (1g, 2a) in his previous 31 outings... Each of Peoria's last eight wins has been by a single goal.
Two of the most potent teams in the AHL collide when Houston entertains Hartford on Saturday night (7:35 ET)... The Aeros have won seven in a row since a 4-3 loss to the Wolf Pack on Feb. 11, and are 16-2-0-1 at home since Nov. 30... Hartford enters Friday's game in San Antonio with a record of 11-1-0-1 in its previous 13 games... Houston boasts three of the top seven scorers in the AHL in Erik Westrum, Kirby Law and rookie Patrick O'Sullivan; the Wolf Pack have scored 18 goals in three games entering the weekend...
