Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that goaltender Joe Howe has been named the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for January.
Howe, a 23-year-old Plymouth, Michigan native earned a remarkable 6-1-0 record with a stingy 1.70 goals-against average and a save percentage of .944 in seven appearances during the month of January. He opened the month on a four-game winning streak, and made at least 26 saves in six of his eight starts while allowing two goals or less in all but one appearance. Overall this season, the rookie is 9-2-1 with a 2.43 GAA. Last Friday in Toledo, he posted a career-high 40 saves in a 3-1 win over the Toledo Walleye to help cap off the Cyclones' January record at 8-3. It's the first time this season that a Cyclone has garnered this league award.
