Recap of the Week

The Warriors captured four out of six possible points during their three-game road trip against the Florida Everblades this past week.

The series began Wednesday with a 5-4 win after a dominant third period by the Warriors. The Everblades gained the lead three different times during the first two periods. Greenville got goals from Scott Arnold, Jordie Johnston and Andrew Himelson during the first two frames and the game was knotted 3-3 heading into the third period. Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Ryan Hegarty scored power play goals in the third period to push the Warriors to a regulation win. Jason Missiaen stopped 32 shots and earned his third win of the season.

Friday night's game had a different ending for the Warriors, who lost 5-4 in a shootout. After Florida scored the first goal of the game, the Warriors responded with three goals by Jordie Johnston, Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Scott Arnold to jump out to a 3-1 lead halfway through the second period. The Everblades responded with two quick goals towards the end of the second period to tie the game at three. Johnston gave Greenville the lead once again with 1:05 left in the stanza and the Warriors took a 4-3 lead into the third period. Florida would tie the game once again in the third to force overtime and a shootout. The Warriors did not score in five attempts during the shootout and fell 5-4. Jason Missiaen made 39 saves in the loss.

Greenville also fell by a 5-4 score on Saturday. Marc-Olivier Vallerand and Scott Arnold began the scoring to lift the Warriors to a 2-0 lead through one period of play.
