Matchup:

The Solar Bears and Everblades meet up for the thirteenth time this season, with only one match up (March 4) still remaining for the two clubs during the regular season. The Solar Bears are looking for their first win in three games tonight after falling twice to the Gwinnett Gladiators and once to the South Carolina Stingrays last week. Orlando last took the ice on Saturday night, falling in a closely contest by a 3-2 score to Gwinnett. The Gladiators recorded the first goal of the game on a breakaway midway through the first period, but forward C.J. Severyn answered with his first of two goals on the night when he slammed home a rebound at 3:46 of the second. Gwinnett regained their lead a little under seven minutes later on a 2-on-1 opportunity, but Severyn got his second of the game with 2:36 left in the middle stanza to tie the game at 2-2 heading to the third. A carry-over power play from the first period set up F Marshall Everson for a goal 1:17 into the third, and it stood as the wining tally. Florida has seen back-to-back games against the Greenville Road Warriors end in identical 5-4 shootout wins. In their last outing, on Saturday, the Everblades fell behind 2-0 by the end of the first period, but came storming back with three goals in the second to lead 3-2 going into the third. They expanded their lead to 4-2 less than two minutes into the third period only to see Greenville score twice in under four minutes to send the game to a shootout, where the Everblades prevailed for the 5-4 victory.
