Solar Bears Trade for Barnett

Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Minnesota Wild and Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Iowa Wild and Toronto Marlies, announced today that they have acquired forward J.T. Barnett from the Ontario Reign for future considerations.

Barnett (6-1, 205 lbs.) joins the Solar Bears after playing 31 games for the Ontario Reign, scoring one goal and adding eight assists for nine points. The rookie forward has played the last five seasons (2008-13) in the WHL for the Kelowna Rockets, Everett Silvertips, Kamloops Blazers, and Vancouver Giants. The native of Scottsdale, AZ, compiled 259 games in the WHL, scoring 57 goals and adding 74 assists for 131 points. He had his best offensive season as a member of Kamloops in 2010-11, finishing third on the team with 30 assists and seventh with 43 points.
